When the Rooster Crows

streets of my aged neighborhood
early in the morning,
I sometimes hear a rooster crow.
The sound fills some space in me–
a childhood space,
a sound from long ago
when roosters crowed more often.

The sound made by roosters serves as morning alarm in India. 😅
