Please Give Me a View

A room with a view
is a wonderful thing,
a marvelous vista
can make my heart sing.

Blank walls and concrete halls
will never, ever do
I always tell the hotel clerk
I must have a room with a view.

Scenic panoramas,
cherry trees in May, or
ocean-filled horizons
simply take my breath away.

If I must, I’ll settle for
a leafy tree or two,
but I simply must have (can’t do without)
a room with some sort of view.
