By the Sea

Surrender.
That’s what it felt like–
my day at the shore.
Like a baby limp with sleep
I reclined in my beach chair,
eyes closed,
listening to the
music of the sea–
the gulls, the surf,
while the silken breeze
and the morning sun
filled me plump with contentment.
