Just Before Twilight

The sunset is pink on blue
behind the mossy oaks.
Greedy, I run outside to
catch more–but it fades fast,
sinking behind a mass of trees.
Now the graying dusk is here,
and not a trace of pink.
Just silhouettes
against the dying sky.
