Just Like That

When I’m not in love
it seems as if I’ll never be again–
the last love a distant memory,
belonging to someone else, not me.
I go along as if in a dry land
that’s always been dry.
Not happy or unhappy. Just familiar.
Then one day I turn a corner
and you appear.
Just like that.
Like the changing of seasons
overnight.
