To an Unknown Poet

“Fill our hearts with love so that our
teardrops may be turned into stars.”

Such beautiful words.
Musical words.
Teardrops into stars?
Only a mystic can fathom such words.
Impractical, nebulous words that won’t
put food on the table.
The words of a dreamer.
A poet.

And yet, if you close your eyes,
and quiet your mind,
you may get a tantalizing glimmer,
a taste, of  how this might be.
How with love,  teardrops can be turned into stars.
How they were turned into stars
before the teardrops even fell.
