Just a Kiss

Squinting into the sun, I stretched to reach the clothesline and pin up something from the loaded laundry basket. A summer breeze was blowing through, so the clothes would be dry in no time. The warm sun felt good on my bare shoulders.

About half way through my little chore, I saw my sweetheart approaching. Coming up for air, I figured. Taking a break from his home office, where he’d been holed up all morning in front of his computer.

He walked over to me, gave me a kiss on the lips, and said, “That’s all I came out to do. Just that.” Then he turned around and walked back inside. I continued hanging the clothes, with a little smile on my lips, fresh from his kiss.

Thanks, Lucinda! Missed seeing you all at the last blog class! But the subject of that vignette is who I was visiting. 🙂
