Roxy the Lonesome Donkey

I just came in from giving Roxy the Donkey some peanuts. She’d been braying disconsolately. Rex the Watchdog always answers her plaintive but raucous hee-haws with a sympathetic howling. In solidarity. It’s heartbreakingly comical.

Roxy is pastured in about 5 acres with 3 Nubian goats. But her goat buddies go wandering off into the woods without her from time to time. Evidently, they squeeze through a hole in the fence that she’s too big for. So she gets left behind till they return. All by her lonesome.

So she brays. And Rex howls. And I bring peanuts.
